Angel/fairy/butterfly tattoo wings?? I have searched soo much on the web for a really good pic of wings and i can't seem to find what i'm looking for.... i plan on getting a pair of 'em on either my whole back or just across my shoulder blades, depends on what i can find. If you like the length of one set, the colors of another, the shape of a third, the texture of a fourth, then get them all. Take these pictures and what you like about each to your tattoo artist.
Work with the artist telling what your favorite parts are and how you want the whole thing to look. You can even circle parts and write notes on the picture. The artist will be able to draw up a combination of these things for you. Then you can look at this new drawing and see if anything needs changed until it is just right. This is what tattoo artists are AMAZING at. They will also have plenty of pics of wings on their own you can look at too.

It's going to be b&w ♥Layla's Mommy♥ replied: "i got tattoos on my sholder blades even though theyre the same thing (wings) i got one done and then went back a week later and got the other. the first one was my first tattoo so i was expecting the worse. it ended up not being so bad until they started filling in the color, that wasnt the funnest thing ever but it wasnt awful either. but then when i went back for the other side, i was thinking "oh this will be easy it hardly hurt last time" and it ended up hurting so bad because i guess i wasnt mentally ready for it."

A lot can also depend on what design you get - is this going to be black and grey, color, etc? Different needle configurations have a lot to do with it. So does the aptitude of the artist (the one who did my upper spine one eventually got fired for gouging people and tattooing too deep)."

well i agree with the whole, getting them small is a waste of canvas (for lack of better words) and plus most people cant deal with that much pain, thats why not many people have them as large as i do. and as far as having this tattoo when im old, it wont matter bc my whole generation is going to be tated up so it wont be anything out of the norm for our grandchildren to have grandparents with tattoos, if ya think about it that way, ya know. punkyglitterglitter replied: "It's hot! ex: I have on the back of my neck wings w/a black heart in the middle - and the words "fallen angel" - -it has blues and pinks and white - - my tat guy designed it.

i don't know how old you are, and i hate to be presumptuous, but it seems like you might regret this when you get older. a woman's back can be so beautiful. tattooing wings will only take that away. besides, what happens when you have an important event to go to and find that beautiful dress that exposes your back? just think long and hard before you do something to your body that will be so permanent."

As far as getting and idea of how you want them to look, browse images of feathers and try to create your own shape. Usually a good tattoo artist will be able to sketch you out a few shapes and styles to help get your brain thinking. If you don't like feathers, think of other things that can be used for wings. I have seen spider web type wings, wings that were done to look like clouds and lightning made them. Just use your imagination and interests.

I've been in the tattoo business for 12 years and I've been tattooing for 20 years and those wings were great. They were simple but looked so cool."

Inked Mama to my Beautiful Boy replied: "All artists work at different speeds, I would imagine on average 2-3 hours due to the amount of filling in. Most artists charge by the hour, my artist charges £60 an hour (which I believe would have been around $120 before the economy went kaput and the exchange rates all bollocksed up!), in which case around £120-£180. I'm not usually a fan of tribal but that's not too bad actually! :-)
And richard... who the hell are you? You post the oddest answers. One minute you're perving on about breasts and butts, the next you're reeling off a load of judgemental nonsense. What business of yours is it what tattoo this guy gets? I have a tribal with a wolf head coming out of it on my forearm and it was $150 n took around n hour..... a tat of that size in that pic and color will run anywhere from $250 up too $1,000 depending on the artist you go too.... length wise a tat like that may take 2 sessions one for the outline and one for the color in part both sessions probably could be anywhere from 2 to 5 hours.
